Efforts to rescue stranded climber in Clear Creek Canyon close stretch of US 6

KUSA – Efforts to rescue a stranded hiker in Clear Creek Canyon Friday afternoon led the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to close a stretch of westbound US 6.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the westbound lanes of the highway were closed between Highway 93 and Highway 119.

Sky9 was over the rescue. The hiker was able to get down safely.

It’s unclear how that person got stranded or if there were any injuries.
